Why we do not seek conventional herbal-board accreditation.
Herbalism is not federally regulated in the U.S.
There is currently no federal licensure system for herbalists in the United States. “Board certification” does not equate to state licensure or medical regulation — most such certifications are private memberships or organizational affiliations rather than governmental licensure.
Our focus is African traditional herbalism.
Many contemporary herbal credentialing structures were developed within Western frameworks that historically excluded or restructured Indigenous and African knowledge traditions. Our educational model honors ancestral systems while maintaining academic rigor and professional structure — without requiring validation from institutions that were not built to uphold those traditions.
Academic integrity. Cultural preservation. Foundational science. Responsible clinical application. Ethical practice. Clear scope of practice.
Structured, competent, culturally grounded professional development.
